David Stephen, Managing Director at Feral Interactive, said that converting this experience to a touch-based tablet form factor was a huge design and programming challenge. Given that Rome: Total War was originally designed for a Windows-based PC, the interface and controls relied on a keyboard and mouse. ![]() This panel consists of pause, play, fast-forward, and 2x fast-forward virtual buttons. The overall time frame can be adjusted, too, by using a single finger and tapping on the timer control panel located in the screen’s top-right corner. The general formation of all the units can be changed by selecting everyone and then dragging two fingers in the desired direction.Īs for battle, players simply attack by tapping on the enemy forces, or by drawing a path to the opposing army. Another method is to draw a circle around the units the player wants to move, and then draw a specific path on the screen leading to the desired location. To order troops to a specific location, players can direct more than one unit by drawing the virtual circle and then tap on a specific location. Want to control more than one unit? Simply draw a virtual circle around every unit to control them all at once. Players can even rotate the camera using a thumb and finger, and tap on the screen to directly select/deselect a specific unit. They can also use the typical pinch-to-zoom touch function to get a close look at the field and troops. On the camera front, players can drag their finger across the screen to move the camera. Thanks to this, players have easy access to all the main components with a simple tap on the screen. The controls were retooled to work optimally on the large touchscreen to provide the full Rome: Total War experience. Despite its PC-based roots, this version of Rome: Total War is “heavily optimized” for the Apple-based tablets.

Scarlett uses this to her advantage by commanding the Elder to kill Dmitri and his underlings before telling him to find her sister. He chose the latter which condemned him to a life of servitude to the Van Helsing's until the Dark One is either released or destroyed. Unluckily for Dmitri and his minions, it turns out the Elder was captured by the Van Helsing family and given the choice to die by their hand or protect them. Arriving at the Elder’s lair, they’re met by Dmitri who orders Abigail to open the crypt (which can only be opened by a Van Helsing but costs Abigail her life) and release the Elder. Abigail also reveals the vial of blood around her neck is that of the ‘Dark One’ and it may have something to do with Vanessa and Scarlett’s abilities. In Van Helsing's season 2 finale “Black Days,” Scarlett and Abigail travel to the Elder vampire’s crypt and Abigail informs her daughter he is one of four Elders, whose purpose is to release the ‘Dark One’ and bring about the ‘final darkness’ which would spell humanity's end. Season 2 also revealed the existence of an ancient Elder vampire who would play an important role in the finale. Vanessa was absent for the mother-daughter reunion, however, having seemingly been shot dead in an earlier episode. Heading into the season two finale with the knowledge that Van Helsing will return next year makes some of the narrative choices easier to understand, and Crooked Falls succeeds as it. Family reunions were certainly a theme throughout season 2 Vanessa later met Scarlett (Missy Peregrym) – the long-lost twin sister she never knew she had – who in turn met their birth mother Abigail Van Helsing (Andee Frizzell, Stargate: Atlantis). Their reunion was sadly short-lived after Vanessa tried to cure her but ended up killing her instead. This ability makes her a prime target for vampires, especially the powerful Dmitri who wants to use her blood to create vampires that can reproduce and withstand sunlight. Three years later Vanessa Van Helsing awakens from a coma to find out she may be humanity’s last hope, with her unique blood meaning her bite can turn vampires back into humans. With this secret weapon, Vanessa becomes a prime target for the vampires. She is humanity's last hope, as her unique blood composition gives her the ability to turn vampires human. Vanessa Van Helsing, a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, awakens from a coma after her supposed passing to find herself in a post-apocalyptic world, three years after an eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera had blanketed the world in ash, blocking out sunlight and allowing vampires to overrun humanity. As the group struggles with the disappearance of one of its own, they accept sanctuary in a town run by its Sheriff and his troops Dmitri inches closer to achieving his darkest goal. For some reason, I could not stack two video / image time line on top of each other. One of the most basic stack in video editing is stacking 2-3 different video / image time line so you can show an image while you doing your talking head scene for example. You simply have more capabilities in the macOS version of the iMovie than the iPadOS version of iMovie. Here is where the difference start to really show. Somehow the iPadOS version does not give you the ability to stack images or videos on the timeline, but it's fine for audio. Personally, I would just add from Finder in macOS. In iMovie on both versions, the layout is generally the same. This layout is out there in every video editing software because it’s easy and it’s work. The program is split into three parts: top left is where you get your assets (movies, pictures and sound), the top right is where you view you current assets that you selected in your time line and the bottom half is the timeline, where all the assets are lay over a single timeline. General app layout when you are working on your projectĪfter launching or creating a project, you will be presented with the typical layout of a video editor. Launching, seeing your project listing and creating a new project is basically the same. iMovie on the iPadOS is functional but needs massive improvements if Apple actually want to use the iPad as a laptop replacement device as they have been touting for years. ![]() So here’s the gist: iMovie on macOS is light-years ahead of iMovie on the iPadOS. One would think that a tech juggernaut with obsession with little details like Apple manage to make the iMovie experience consistent on all platforms. Just like Photos, Messages and Mail, iMovie is available on iOS, iPadOS and macOS. It was sold to compete with Microsoft Office but later given away for free as a value added software bundle for the macOS and later iPadOS and iOS. iMovie was part of iLife Suite which are productivity apps like Microsoft Office. This is pretty much true for Apple’s utility apps like Messages (with iMessage), photos, Shortcuts (coming to Monterey Bay), FaceTime, Stocks and others.Īnother suite of apps that Apple gives away for free is productivity apps like Pages, Keynote and the focus of this article, iMovie. And if you register all your devices in iCloud, the apps can be synched up with every device you have and act in a certain way. One of the selling points and key features of Apple ecosystem is that they have a slew of common apps in every device they have sold. ![]() The adults actively feed, guard, shade the nestling although the females are often more attentive. Incubation among shoebills takes about 30 days (approximately a month). The adults are responsible for defending the territory of about 2 to 4 sq.km from any conspecifics. Unlike pelicans, cormorants and herons that nest in colonies, the shoebills use nests for breeding. The Shoebills are naturally solitary species. They dominate the poorly oxygenated water areas, especially marshes, swamps and bogs where fish often surfaces to breathe. They are among sensitive species to human disturbance and can leave nests in case they are flushed by humans. The Shoebill moves slowly and often stays still for longer time a reason they are often referred to as “statue-like” species. They also exist in Northern Cameroon, Kenya, Ethiopia, Upper Congo River, Malawi, Okavango Basin and others. These include Southern Sudan and South Sudan Uganda, Rwanda, Western Tanzania, and Northern Zambia. The Shoebill Storks live in freshwater swampy area of tropical Africa. The shoebills can fly for 100-500 meters and rarely take long flights. Their flapping rate is about 150 flaps per minute- making it the slowest rate among bird species. When flying, Shoebill wings are held flat and they fly with their necks retracted. During nesting season, adults and nestlings involve in bill-clattering- this is how they communicate with each other. While clattering, adults utter a cow-kind of moo on a high pitch.
