![]() By 1985, Transformers sales were through the roof, dominating the valuable market above the $3 price point. Tonka tried to license any robot products they could, creating an eclectic empire of GoBots branded merchandise. Relegated to competing solely at the ~$3 price point, GoBots took on the schoolyard caste of cheap wannabees despite booming sales. GoBots countered the mostly larger Generation 1 toys by licensing Bandai’s larger designs as Super GoBots, but these failed to compete effectively. ![]() Once Transformers hit, however, competition was fierce. Tonka pumped out all the Bandai designs available in rapid succession, adding indigenous designs like Zod and the Command Center. The lines were instant hits, gripping the market months before Hasbro’s Transformers hit the shelves. Bandai marketed the figures directly in Europe as Robo Machine, and in Australia as Machine Men. American toy manufacturer stepped in to start marketing the toys in the US with a new name and an accompanying Hanna-Barbera cartoon. The line instantly sunk in the US, much like competitor Takara’s Diakron line. The earliest waves were marketed directly by Bandai as Machine Men, named after their alternate modes. The brainchild of Popy, a division of Bandai, the GoBots started out as the affordable Machine Robo series, small reasistic or futuristic vehicles that transformed into robots. GoBots first came to the western market in 1983, intending to capitalize early on the spreading transforming robot craze that already gripped Japan. Movie - Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) (116).

A smaller version of the show without the Galileo telescope previously appeared in China at the Beijing Planetarium. The Franklin Institute was selected among dozens of institutions in the United States and elsewhere that wanted to present the exhibit, Galluzzi said. The company saw its clear connections to Galileo in funding the exhibition, in part, because of its deep Tuscan roots and 150-year history as a maker of precision instruments for measuring time, he said. the greatest Italian genius of all time," said Angelo Bonati, chief executive of Officine Panerai, the Florentine luxury watchmaker sponsoring the exhibition. Other highlights include beautiful celestial illustrations by Galileo and others, a compass set believed to have belonged to Michelangelo and a variety of scientific and astronomical instruments. The show coincides with the 400th anniversary of Galileo's first astronomical observation - the moon - through a telescope and the designation of 2009 as the International Year of Astronomy by the International Astronomical Union and the United Nations.Ī four-day global effort tied to the yearlong celebration, called 100 Hours of Astronomy, also kicked off Thursday and will involve round-the-clock webcasts from 80 telescopes on earth and in space, stargazing parties and educational programs. "This is unique not only because of the items' historical importance, but because it's the only time they will ever be on display outside of Florence," said Institute and Museum of the History of Science director Paolo Galluzzi.Ī central theme of the exhibition is the importance of Florence's influential Medici family as advocates of science and art, and how their patronage of Galileo's work have directly shaped the modern world. But it is one of only two of his telescopes still known to exist. It's unknown whether this particular telescope was the one with which Galileo first observed the moon, discovered sunspots and the moons of Jupiter and marked the phases of Venus. Then Galileo turned his telescope toward the heavens in 1610. But the star of the show is the 3-foot-long telescope, a humble-looking wooden tube with Galileo's own handwriting at one end noting the magnifying power of the lens. On display are more than 100 artifacts from that museum, which is closed for extensive restoration work, as well as the Uffizi Gallery and the Pitti Palace in Florence. The show makes one other stop, in Stockholm, in time for October's Nobel Prize announcements, before the telescope and other items return in January to their home in the Institute and Museum of the History of Science in Florence. These depictions emphasize his realization that walls of deep craters on the Moon cast. "Galileo, the Medici and the Age of Astronomy" opens Saturday and runs through Sept. The regulatory approval by an agency such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States defines the indicated use frequently-also referred to as the labeled use-as well as how to use it appropriately, any warnings and contraindications. Therefore, we will initially discuss the development and safety of MR contrast agents before we will review some of their type-specific characteristics for cardiovascular MR and MRA. ![]() 2 We also experience a substantial variability in country specific availability of MR contrast agents for cardiovascular imaging as well as regulatory approvals, which is especially evident for cardiovascular imaging. For cardiovascular MR imaging, we classify today’s available agents into paramagnetic (mostly gadolinium-based) and super-paramagnetic (mostly iron oxide-based). For example, all contrast agents for x-ray computer tomography (CT) use iodine as their central ion, whereas MR contrast agents depend on the magnetic moment of the central atom. MR contrast agents generate image contrast by locally changing the relaxivity of the recipient tissue. Radiographic contrast agents lead to an attenuation of the transmitted x-rays MR agents rely on a completely different biophysical principle. The value of a contrast agent depends on its ability to generate image contrast for a given imaging modality. 1 This chapter will focus solely on those MR contrast agents that have, or promise to have, value for cardiovascular applications. These applications were facilitated by innovations in MRI instrumentation that improved acquisition speed and in optimization of cardiovascular imaging protocols. Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE MRA) has become the preferred method for fast and accurate assessment of common arterial structures such as the thoracic aorta, abdominal aorta, carotid arteries, renal arteries, and peripheral arteries. Myocardial perfusion and myocardial delayed enhancement MR are important contrast-enhanced techniques for the clinical evaluation for myocardial disease. Intravenous contrast agents have become integral to the clinical practice of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. ![]() ![]() Judy, at present, is a female-only romance option but when modders uncovered that she was still fully voiced throughout the entire romance sequence when they unlocked her story arc for Male Vs, some thought that meant that CD Projekt RED cut the content to further restrict romances. There are times when the movie can't resist making Ray a borderline-superhero who makes incredible saves and improvises his way out of tight spots that would vex James Bond himself. But for the most part, the movie tries to keep things at least remotely believable. The first time Ray tries and fails at doing something, he's marked by the authorities as a deadly threat to the greater good, and he and his daughter spend the vast majority of the film on the run from the authorities, calling significant allies on shadily-acquired burner phones delivered to remote stretches of woodlands where the duo is living out of Ray's vintage muscle car. On top of that, this film is not set in a comic-book universe where actions have no consequences. What's initially fascinating about "Sweet Girl" is that even though it gives us a hero with commando-level combat training, it makes him a real person who stumbles and fails and has to recover from injuries, and turns him loose in a real world where guys like Keeley have tons of security, and the laws of both economics and physics prevent enemies from easily getting close enough to inflict a killing blow. In a sure-to-be-crowd-pleasing moment, Ray calls into a TV talk show that's interviewing the CEO, Justin Bartha's Simon Keeley, and tells him he's coming for him. There are intimations that a payoff was involved. The film speeds through Amanda's deterioration, skipping ahead to the phase where she's hairless and disabled, essentially watching the clock in a treatment center. There's a generic drug that just got FDA approval that's far more affordable than the name-brand version, and Amanda is eligible for it, but the possibility is cruelly snatched away when the head of the pharmaceutical company abruptly withdraws it from market. The story begins, alas, with a flash-forward to Ray on a bridge being entreated to give himself up, then cuts to several years earlier, when Ray, his wife Amanda ( Adria Arjona) and his daughter Rachel (played in a younger incarnation by Milena Rivero) are devastated by Amanda's cancer diagnosis. "Sweet Girl" clocks in at nearly two hours, but there's a tighter, less derivative, more powerful movie in there-possibly a working-class-hero legal drama like " Dark Waters" or " Erin Brockovich," except the lead character is a bruiser who can put another man's head through a wall. You'll recognize which ones every time a pilfered action beat or plot twist arrives, but let's just say that " The Fugitive," the "Terminator" movies, and the Jason Bourne films loom large, as well as any popular blockbuster where the storytelling cheats to create a whopping surprise that nobody could see coming because truth be told, it's kinda dumb. It seems to want to be five, possibly six landmark 1990s and early aughts blockbusters at once. The main problem here is that-as written by Philip Eisner and Gregg Hurwitz, and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Brian Edward Mendoza-"Sweet Girl" is too long and disorganized, and often just too much, for its own good. And it gives Momoa, who gained fame as Khal Drogo on "Game of Thrones" and Aquaman, a chance to show us sides he hasn't presented yet-in particular the distress of an ordinary (though large and tough) man who has no superpowers or cavalry, and must go it alone against enemies that get away with murder because the system is set up to rubber-stamp their profit-making. ![]() As such, it asserts Momoa, who is half-Native Hawaiian and part Native American, as a representative everyman, just as relatable as somebody like Mark Wahlberg or Matt Damon. Momoa's character, ex-military guy Ray Cooper, feels like one of those soft-spoken, "All-American" character parts, the kind that's currently being played by an array of fortysomething Anglo guys in baseball caps. It's about a man trying to get revenge for his wife's death from cancer at the hands of a depraved and indifferent pharmaceutical company while his daughter ( Isabela Merced) is pulled along by the currents of his rage. ![]() It's a sprawling, bruising, sometimes convoluted, often emotionally exhausting drama with action sequences stitched into it. ![]() You can immediately see why Jason Momoa not only signed up to play the lead in the action-revenge thriller "Sweet Girl" but also executive-produced it. ![]() Proprietary dbForge Studio for PostgreSQLĭbForge Studio for PostgreSQL is all-in-one IDE designed for effective database development and management.
